soundtrack

This week, my group focused on the sound side of editing. We felt that the visual editing was successfully completed. During editing this week, we decided to cut off part of the scene where (Alastair's) character was walking down the street. We felt that the scene was too long and there was nothing happening apart of him walking.

We were told that we either have to create our own music sound track or download a soundtrack from a copyright free website. This part of the task was by far the hardest thing we had to decide as a group. We had some disagreements of what had to be in the film visually but when it came to acoustically, we just simply couldn't agree on the same sound. We had many different soundtrack trails from http://music4yourvids.co.uk/royalty-free-music.html. We finally decided to use Lonely Piano1 from the website. We choosed this music because we wanted to evoke a reaction from our audince. The song is both calming and unsettling.

We then used this website  http://soundcloud.com/search?q[fulltext]=tranquility to find a soundtrack for the first part of our sequence. We tried different soundtracks and we all felt that what we had choosen so far was not working with the entire atmosphere we are trying to create. As a group, we then decided to find soundtrack during the week end that would collabrote well with visuals.

These are the kind of music we want to use for our soundtrack.

These are the type of music we want plan to use for our final piece. The only problem is that we only have to use a copyfree right soundtrack.
